CA GSP Rescue
Back 1999, CGM adopted their first dog, a German Shorthaired Pointer, from the California GSP Rescue—a breed-specific rescue specializing in German Shorthaired Pointers (GSPs) in San Diego County, CA. Ever since, we’ve been dedicated to the breed and helping the Rescue with the GSPs in need of finding a new home. When Cool Grey Matter gets to help a non-profit organization with fresh, new ideas, that's when we feel our true purpose. It was with the CA GSP Rescue that gave us the opportunity to help them deliver their purpose to the public. As a not-for-profit organization, operating through volunteers and networking to assure proper placement and lifetime assistance for each dog and enjoyment by adopting families.
Ever since we first volunteered to help the Rescue redesign their website, CGM has been an active part of the marketing and design for not only the website (now in its 8th generation), but also merchandise for special events such as the Pints for Pointers series of fundraisers at breweries throughout Southern California, print and digital literature, photography for the website and at gallery/cafe events, the Rescue’s annual holiday card, t-shirts, calendars….in fact, whenever there has been a need for promotion items, CGM has been there to help. We’ve even transported dogs that needed a lift after being sprung from a local shelter to the Rescue’s safehouse kennels in Riverside County.
We’ve also personally adopted or fostered, to date, ten GSPs. At one point, we had three Pointers bouncing around a two-bedroom bunglalow. That’s a lot of exuberance.
